In Kathmandu, as in any Nepalese city in general, the Temples – Buddhist as well as Hindu – are true ‘Houses of Life’, to use an ancient Egyptian definition.
The secular and the sacred coexist in the same public space, figures of deities are venerated by the faithful, candles and incense smoke mingle with daily activities, passers-by and fruit and vegetable sellers.
Life is present everywhere and manifests itself in many forms.
