The Veiled and the Unveiled

In reality, a good black and white photo contains very little – if any – pure white and pure black, but is mostly made of different shades of grey.

The same applies to everyday life. It is easy to think that “white is good” and “black is bad”. Some think that beauty has to be veiled to be preserved, and others will say that it should be unveiled for everyone to enjoy its presence. Should a breast be seen or hidden? And if not a breast then what about the hair or the face?

I believe that truth lies somewhere in the middle, like in the grey shades of a photograph. Not everything has to be shown… nor should everything be hidden.

The solution may lie in awakening the human capacity of discernment – also called intelligence.
