This is a nice, popular restaurant in Lisbon, Portugal. It’s not a place for tourists, it’s full of local people, mainly workers. It’s lunch time. The TV in the background is playing the usual nonsense, so called “news”, and this man, sitting at the table, is waiting for his meal to arrive.

Meanwhile he discovers another sort of food…. he has just bought an old, second hand book named “Rienzi, the last of the Tribunes”. It’s quite a rare book, not so easy to read, but meaningful. He is not really smiling, but we can feel how he is “eating” from the book. It seems that this mental or even spiritual food is at least as important, if not more important, as the one that is going to fill his plate in a moment.

We should remember to feed our minds with products we select…. and not let the TV do it for us.
