The burning light of Japan

It was a sunny day in Yokohama, near Tokyo. The sun was so bright and the light so intense that the image seemed like a mirage in the desert. I saw the silhouette of this woman just when she left the light and entered the shadowed part of the street. I really like the extreme contrast of this image, associated with the concept of mirage. It makes me wonder where reality lies: in the light or in the shadow? Maybe in both, or in none. Could it all be an illusion?
